Lupita slot filters help narrow a catalogue, but a transient filter combination is not automatically a useful indexed article. A durable category should answer a distinct reader question with supporting content, rather than duplicate the same list under many nearly identical URLs.
A control state is not an editorial topic
Changing the same catalogue from Latest to Popular mainly changes order. A phrase typed into a local search box may simply narrow an existing list. Neither operation creates original research.
A dedicated mechanic or theme branch has a different job: explain its subject, disclose selection boundaries and link to relevant individual records. It should stand on its own rather than rely on a near-empty grid and a swapped heading.
Plan URL behavior before adding more filters
Google's faceted-navigation guidance explains that filter combinations can create a large crawling burden. The practical inference for this directory is to avoid generating unlimited public branches from arbitrary combinations.
Document which URLs are intended as editorial pages, which are pagination and which merely preserve interface state. Consistent parameters are easier to maintain than several spellings of the same selection. This planning does not guarantee indexing or rankings.
Pagination needs real links and its own identity
Google's pagination guidance distinguishes separate pages in a sequence from duplicate versions. Crawlable links and page-specific URLs matter; pointing every page's canonical at page one can obscure that distinction.
Lupita's library exposes numbered routes and ordinary link destinations. Individual slots also retain their own canonical URLs. These are architecture choices, not a claim that search engines have crawled or indexed every route.
Do not confuse a canonical hint with a crawl block
A canonical identifies a preferred URL; it is not the same as refusing crawling. A noindex instruction and a robots.txt restriction also serve different purposes, and a blocked crawler may not see a page's noindex instruction.
The current library's sort and mechanic parameters share the path-level canonical. That should not be described as a complete anti-crawl policy: this audit found no separate parameter-blocking rule. Any later crawl-control change needs a deliberate implementation and verification.
Publish a branch only when it adds an answer
Before creating a new indexed page, ask what a visitor learns that the parent page does not explain. Useful differences include a documented mechanic, a clearly bounded product set or a source-supported comparison.
There is no magic minimum count of slots or words that turns a thin page into a strong one. Avoid invented release dates, unsupported best labels and paragraphs that merely repeat the page title. Google also cautions against writing to a supposedly preferred word count in its helpful-content guidance.
Audit routes as well as the visual interface
Check the sitemap, internal links, canonical destinations and empty states. A useful button on screen can still generate unintended URLs, while an attractive page can lack ordinary navigational links.
The aim is a finite, understandable reference structure with interactive discovery on top. More URLs are justified by more useful answers—not by the number of filter combinations a script can produce.
